Easy Fade

Open a graphic you like.
Select All

Selections, Modify, Contract

(This graphic is 300x300)
I contracted 25 pixels

Selections, Modify, Feather

5 more pixels than you contracted.

Hold the CTRL down, hit C then V
(to copy and paste a new image)
Close the original. No.

Pick a color from the graphic for the background.

Open a new image 1025 x the height of your graphic.
Flood fill with the color you picked.
Click on the faded graphic to make it active,
From the layer palette, Click/HOLD the mouse
button down, and drag the layer to the new image.

Position in place.

This is what it should look like.
(Width is shortened for display purposes
and a texture was applied to the background color.)

You can move the opacity bar to get a
different effect.

This is one of my favorite techniques.
