Open Frankie in Animation shop.
Hold the CTRL and click on both frames. They should turn active (blue)
You now need to know what you want Frankie to say.
I have him saying Hi then pause then
You did a Ghoulish Job!
So the first word takes three frames, open mouth, one closed, one closed
paused
the second sentence is 4 four words, as most people with say 'did a' as one
word.
So the last sentence will take 8 frames (4 on/4 off) with a longer pause on
Ghoulish.
So we need 12 frames
start frame ---- Hi - pause -- You did a Ghoulish Job!
1+3+8=12
So copy and paste off/on to a total of 12
frames.
As you can see, here I have frames 3 and 4 as
off. (mistake)
Now just delete or add any single frames you need.
After you get your frames set, you need to add
the talk bubble to
11 of the 12 frames. We want the bubble in exactly the same spot.
So there is no jerky movement. Open the talk bubble. Duplicate it to 11
frames.
Click on all the frames of the bubble, Copy
click on frame 2 -12 on the Frankie animation.
Click on the Paste Into Selected Frames icon
position the bubble in place. You just learned how to position
one image to an exact spot in many frames!
(It took me a long to to figure that out.)
Add your text right in Animation shop.
The crosshairs you see will not show up in the
animation.
They are just a placement tool. Click on the arrow and position the crosshairs.
first frame is set to 300 delay and no talk bubble.
2 and 3 are set to 25 and 150 for the Hi
then a small off delay, blank frame.
Frame 5-12 say You did a Ghoulish Job!
With the third word, Ghoulish having a little longer
pause for the bigger word.
And it's important to have a delay at the end so people can read what you write.
(having a spellchecker here, I didn't spelled ghoulish right in the
animation!)
Who is up for a Challenge!?
Have the words come up as he 'speaks' them.
I thought of that after I did the tutorial
and wasn't going back to change it. LOL!
I hope this tutorial has helped you to do
things you haven't tried before!
